An air pollution control device may be active or passive, depending on whether there is a possiblity of influencing the parameters of combustion. Air pollution control equipment such as filters, catalytic converters etc. will ideally require monitoring before and after the filter to ensure the efficiency and continued necessity of the filter. A flue gas analyser is a precision instrument and should be treated as such. At madur we all know that these stack emissions monitoring devices are used in less than ideal conditions, particularly the portable flue gas analysers. It is nevertheless simple protection of an investment to treat them as well as possible under the circumstances to be met in stack gas monitoring.
